Quorn Pepper and Herb Sausages are a good source of protein and low in cholesterol. And this pasta bake works brilliantly with our sausages or Quorn Pieces. Serve it up with garlic bread and salad leaves for a hearty, family-friendly meal.
50g fresh bread crumbs 50g parmesan cheese grated, mixed together
Heat oil in a large non-stick frypan, cook the chilled Quorn Pepper and Herb Sausages for 4-5 minutes or until evenly browned. Set aside.
Place the onions, garlic, celery and carrots in the same pan, cook over a medium heat for 5-6 minutes. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano and stock, simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally until the liquid has been reduced by half.
Make the cheese sauce, in a saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly. Gradually add the milk, continue stirring to make a thick smooth sauce. Add the cheese and stir until melted.
Slice the Quorn Pepper and Herb Sausages into bite-sized pieces and add the cooked pasta, stir through the tomato sauce and transfer to an ovenproof dish.
Pour over the cheese sauce and top with the breadcrumb and cheese topping. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes until topping is golden brown.
Serve sprinkled with chopped basil.
