Carbon Footprint & Sustainable Nutrition
Did you know that one bowl of chilli could help save the planet?
Two of the biggest issues facing the world today are the growing health problems related to obesity, and the threat of climate change. It is now well established that excessive meat consumption and its intensive production are significant contributors to this situation. We want to help consumers in developed countries find ways to reduce meat consumption by 50% by 2050, in line with scientific evidence from experts.
It might surprise you how much of an impact going meat free can have on our planet and your health. It's not just the amount of calories and saturated fat you'll save, but your carbon footprint too.
We don’t start where everyone else does with protein production – and we’re proud about that. Rather than use animals, we use fermenters to grow and harvest the protein. This natural process makes our protein production much better for the environment, as it is more water efficient, produces less Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and takes less land.
Quorn® is the first global meat-alternative brand to achieve third party certification of its carbon footprint figures, with over 50% of our products proudly achieving the Carbon Trust Footprint.
