Who loves Quorn Foods?

We nutritionists are often reluctant to say there is such a thing as a healthy food, only a healthy diet. But the mycoprotein found in Quorn Foods is actually fairly healthy and difficult to fault. Not only is mycoprotein low in total and saturated fat, it also has lots of positive health benefits such as being high in fibre and containing good quality protein. Perhaps the most interesting fact for the future is that it naturally contains in two of the 21st century's 'micronutrients' : zinc which might help stimulate the immune system, and magnesium which may improve bone strength.

Dr Margaret Ashwell OBE - Nutritionist

There is a whole world of fungi that encompasses many health benefits and medicinal properties, yet is often underestimated. Fungi have been at the centre of medical breakthroughs over the last century...Quorn foods are a fascinating example of the taming of the "shroom". This type of harnessed fungi, as well as tasting great, provides many benefits as it is a source of protein, fibre, zinc, and magnesium, as well as being low in fat.

Dr Malcolm Clarke - Mycologist credited with introducing Shiitake mushrooms to the West

Australia has been in desperate need of a nutritious alternative and now we’ve finally got it. Quorn products provide an affordable and reliable source of amino acids which means we no longer have to rely on animal produce – something for both meat and non-meat eaters to consider.

Joanna McMillan Price – Nutritionist

It is a huge leap forward for vegetarians and aspiring vegetarians to have a delicious new food available in Australia, particularly as it is so versatile and provides all the protein anyone could need.
